Associate Professorship of Molecular Catalysis, TU München

Fritz E. Kühn is since december 2006 professor for molecular catalysis at TUM. He is working for more than 20 years in the areas of metal-organic chemistry, coordination chemistry and catalytic and medical applications of transition metal complexes. In his working group there is extensive knowledge on synthesis, characterization and applications of metal complexes and ionic liquids. Compounds similar to those used in this project have already been used as initiators or catalysts for the polymerisation of isobutene and for the building of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). Available equipment includes NMR spectrometers, an EPR instrument, XRD, IR and UV-VIS spectrometers, gas chromatographs and elementary analysis.
